Small problems on a roof stay small for a while and then stop being small very suddenly. If you have got a stain on the ceiling, a drip in the roof space or rust showing around the fixings, it is worth getting up there now rather than after the next big southerly.
We find the actual leak
Water travels. The wet patch on your ceiling is often nowhere near where it is getting in. We trace it properly rather than sealing the first thing that looks suspect and hoping.
Screws and washers
The rubber washers under roofing screws perish long before the steel does, and they are the single most common cause of the mystery drip. Replacing them is quick and cheap.
Rust caught early
Surface rust gets wire-brushed back, treated with a rust converter and primed. Left too long, that sheet needs replacing instead — so earlier is always cheaper.
Flashings, valleys and ridging
Lifted or gappy flashings around chimneys, valleys and ridgelines get re-seated and sealed. These are the usual suspects on an older roof.
